Other Universes

Although theoretical cosmologists say there is no conceivable way that we could escape from our universe or observe another one, I am often asked what other universes might be like IF we could visit them. Because there are an infinite number of ways that fundamentals such as time, space, gravity, matter and energy can be related to one another, each universe would have its own rule book formulated by the conditions which existed when that universe was created. The most likely fate for a visitor from our universe would be instant disintegration as our molecules suddenly came under the power of a new rule book for how matter behaves. If the visitor somehow survived the transition, the other universe might well be unrecognizable to our senses. ((Dickinson, Terence. From the Big Bang to Planet X. Camden House, 1993. 24-25.))
